A pill, not a needle in your arm

Oral conscious sedation is taken as a pill. You stay responsive and can answer questions, but you are deeply relaxed, and most people remember little of the treatment. Nitrous oxide is available too.

One or two visits instead of ten

With nothing to interrupt the appointment, a lot can be done at once, and years of put-off work can often be finished in one or two comfortable visits. Your vital signs are watched the whole time.

Same-day denture repairs

A cracked denture or one that has stopped fitting does not mean weeks without teeth. Relines and repairs are done the day you come in.

NTI-tss Plus

A small clear nightguard over the front teeth only, FDA approved for preventing migraine headaches. It keeps the back teeth apart so night clenching eases off.

Implants or dentures?

Implants are anchored in the jawbone and chew like your own teeth. Dentures cost less. A prosthodontist can plan either, so you hear both sides.

Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Will I be asleep during sedation?

No. Sedation here is as simple as taking a pill, and you stay conscious and responsive throughout. You are deeply relaxed, you will not be nervous or fidgety, and most people remember little or nothing of the treatment afterwards. Nitrous oxide is also available. Your vital signs are monitored throughout the visit.

Do I need someone to drive me?

Yes, for oral sedation. You take the pill before you leave home, so someone must bring you and take you home again. There is an escort and designated driver form for sedation patients in the new patient paperwork.

How long does a sedation appointment take?

Depending on the condition of your teeth, sedation may last from two to six hours. Because nothing interrupts the visit, a lot can often be done in one or two appointments, even for people who have not seen a dentist in years.

Which insurance do you take?

We accept Delta Dental, MetLife, UPMC Dental Advantage, United Concordia and Aetna, and we verify your benefits, estimate your copay and submit the claim for you. We do not participate with UPMC for You Medicaid and Medical Assistance plans. Call (412) 931-7900 to check your own coverage.

Take I-279 North to Exit 5, Perrysville Avenue, and turn left onto Route 19 North at the light. The Gristmill Corporate Complex is one mile on the left, at the corner of Route 19 North and Bellevue Road, across from the Sunoco. Look for the converted barn with the red roof. We are in Suite 101 on the first floor, with reserved parking by the first-floor entry and an elevator to every floor.
